OUR STORY

We count ourselves among the “lucky” ones.

Due to the foresight and persistence of her caring, loving mother, what started as a bad cold led to an x-ray to determine if our little girl had developed pneumonia. Within these images something else caught the eye of the radiologist as well as our pediatrician. After many more tests, our daughter faced a diagnosis of spindle cell sarcoma. Once over the shock, thoughts moved immediately to getting the best possible care/treatment for our child. The care, professionalism and empathy we received from so many folks at MGH was nothing short of extraordinary. This care and attention to detail from the team at MGH is no different today than it has been at every step of her arduous journey as she faces multiple years of follow ups.

It is easy now to refer to our situation as “lucky” but really it was people who were behind the early detection and diagnosis. People who were/are the caring, experienced and highly talented folks who performed operations, ensured our daughter’s comfort and continued to monitor her progress. It is your neighbor, the person you nod hello to at the gym, the individual next to you pumping gas, or sharing the cereal aisle at the grocery store.

It is these frequently seen, yet rarely truly known members in your community that create the “luck” about which we talk.

Thank you,

The Indindolis
